Editorial standards

Clear, independent and operationally useful guidance.

These standards explain how HelpEpic develops and maintains workflow content for healthcare teams while protecting privacy, respecting organizational authority and keeping independent support within its proper scope.

Purpose of HelpEpic content

HelpEpic content is written to help healthcare staff recognize workflow stages, clarify operational ownership, document repeatable steps and determine when an issue requires escalation. Guidance is educational and operational. It is not clinical advice, legal advice, security authorization or a replacement for an organization's policies and authorized support channels.

Editorial principles

Operational usefulness

Each page should help a defined healthcare audience understand a specific workflow problem, the people involved, the questions to ask and the next responsible action. Content should avoid vague claims, unnecessary jargon and generic advice that cannot be applied in practice.

Clear scope and escalation

Guidance should distinguish between workflow questions and matters that belong with internal IT, application teams, privacy, security, compliance, clinical leadership or emergency services. HelpEpic does not instruct users to bypass organizational controls.

Privacy by design

Workflow explanations should not require protected health information. Examples must avoid patient names, dates of birth, medical-record numbers, screenshots, clinical records, account credentials and other identifying or confidential information.

Independent presentation

HelpEpic must clearly identify itself as independent. Content must not imply endorsement, affiliation, certification or sponsorship by Epic Systems Corporation or by a healthcare organization unless that relationship is documented and expressly authorized.

Sources and evidence

Content may be informed by publicly available healthcare operational standards, official regulatory or government material, published organizational guidance, documented workflow observations and lessons from scoped support engagements. Pages should identify authoritative external sources when a specific regulatory, privacy, security or technical claim depends on them.

HelpEpic does not republish proprietary training manuals, confidential customer material or restricted software documentation. Guidance is expressed in original language and focuses on operational reasoning, roles, handoffs and escalation.

Review before publication

Content is reviewed for audience fit, operational clarity, privacy boundaries, independence language and appropriate escalation guidance. Service pages are also reviewed to ensure that response-time language, scope and outcomes are not misleading. When a page discusses a regulated or organization-specific matter, it should direct the reader to the relevant authorized policy owner rather than present a universal rule.

Updates and freshness

Pages should be reviewed when workflows, service offerings, regulations, privacy expectations or material operational assumptions change. Substantive pages display or record a review date where practical. Older content may remain useful when the operational principle has not changed, but it should not be represented as newly verified without review.

Corrections

HelpEpic corrects material errors, unclear scope statements and broken references when identified. If you believe a page is inaccurate or could lead a healthcare team to the wrong escalation path, email ask@helpepic.com with the page URL and a description of the concern. Do not include patient information or confidential organizational material.

Commercial separation

HelpEpic offers paid operational support. Commercial availability does not change the requirement that public guidance remain clear about scope, privacy and independence. Service pages may explain paid response levels and engagement models, but they should not promise clinical outcomes, guaranteed resolution or access that HelpEpic does not control.

Use of technology

Technology may assist with organizing content, identifying duplication, checking links and improving readability. Publication responsibility remains with HelpEpic. Automated output should not be published as authoritative guidance without review for accuracy, privacy, scope and operational usefulness.
